Description
To meet all Navy requirements of a pocket-sized flotation device, we will integrate our rapid, safe, on-demand foam and CO2 gas producing system directly into the current aviator survival vest. Our secured, segregated plural component materials package will mix and react through a single ripcord activation system. The released liquid system will expand up to 500% of its original volume, and instantly form durable foam that will completely inflate its folded, sealed, thin plastic containment package into a full-size, single man flotation device. Our foam system will also offer exceptional insulation to the stranded aviator, which will further reduce potential of hypothermia, and greatly increase the aviators chances for survival and rescue. Our system is based upon commercial foam systems that require minimal mixing, and vigorously react in approximately 30-seconds or less. Our material is prepared using highly efficient reactants and catalysts, and is not affected by cold environments. Our system will quickly and completely react when deployed into service, generate a buoyant foam and large amounts of CO2 gas, and offer the performance, size and weight saving package required for the application.
