Description
n prior work, the researchers built a series of virtual physics labs to assess middle school student’s science inquiry practice and understanding. In this project, the team is developing and testing a prototype of Inq-Blotter, a web-based platform intended to provide teachers immediate feedback on student progress while using the labs. The prototype dashboard will alert teachers when students are struggling on specific inquiry practices and provide actionable information to guide practice. The project will also develop resources and curriculum to facilitate classroom integration. The Phase I pilot study will include four teachers across four classes per teacher. The researchers will examine whether the prototype functions as planned and if teachers are able use student data to inform instructional practice.
