Description
This effort will develop innovative methods and an enhanced diagnostic tool to optimize maintenance for the Trident II (D5) Weapon System Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) by determining the most effective maintenance path considering history, likelihood of success for corrective actions, and time constraints. Using prognostic techniques the INS Maintenance Assist Tool (IMAT) will determine the likelihood of future failures and then provide preventative corrective action recommendations. In Phase I we will develop an approach and proof of concept to evaluate the feasibility of our proposed methods and tool and document the results in a detailed research report.
