Description
This proposal is for Sequential Phase II development, testing and initial transition and commercialization of Perceptronics’ innovative system for Modeling of Dense Urban Networks (MDUN). In Phases I and II, we created a prototype MDUN tool capable of: analyzing available data sources about perceptions, sentiments (beliefs, values, etc.), experiences, and other sociocultural factors and processing these data through a proven set of objective variable metrics; reliably assessing the local population’s sentiment and behavior in a multifaceted way; forecasting the impacts, both direct and indirect, of courses of action on the sentiment and the behavior of the local populace; and identifying potential triggers or tipping points, critical thresholds where abrupt and dramatic changes might occur. Our Sequential Phase II project will: expand datasets which MDUN uses to support more complex analyses involving non-social variables; incorporate live social media data as well as potentially supplementing with on-the-ground surveys; enhance the analytics to include even more state of the art algorithms which were not available during earlier phases as well as to account for autocorrelative effects; develop the technology to TRL 7 or 8 including, but not limited to, DoD approved cloud deployment, automated insight generation, user experience, and exporting results; and design and use a set of real-world test cases to evaluate the predictive analytics accuracy. Test cases will be developed in collaboration with stakeholder and transition partners.
