Description

Over the past 20 years, more than 200 US defense forces have been injured as a result of terror attacks. DoD, DAF and USSF, personnel, facilities, and materials are potential targets for attack by terrorists, and this threat continues to grow with the current global security environment. In an age of rapidly advancing technology and threats at home and abroad the AF must find innovative solutions to protect its installations. The Air Force relies on its installations to deliver Air Power around the world. Base defense has been a consistent goal for the AF with the Year of the Defender in 2019, Year of Integrated Base Defense in 2020, and the goal to improve base lethality and readiness in the 2021 AFIMSC Strategy. Part of this defense is the AF’s 38,000-person global security force. These Security Forces personnel conduct physical security, antiterrorism, force protection, law enforcement, and policing operations. Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC) is addressing the resulting needs from the threat by developing, delivering, and executing Security Forces capabilities and associated programs for AF and Joint mission sets enabling a safe and secure operating environment. Qylur’s Q Sentinel is a key component in ensuring AFSFC’s mission to supplement physical security rings required to protect USAF personnel and assets.Qylur proposes to execute a 3-month feasibility study with Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC) to enhance the understanding of problem areas, apply state of the art knowledge, and establish necessary adaptations for prototype development and Phase II effort.
