RADIABEAM TECHNOLOGIES, LLC — SBIR Phase II award from Department of Defense.

Phase II SBIR prototype / development signal

  • Phase II is where Department of Defense funds deeper R&D after feasibility. Incumbents with Phase II history are serious competitors on adjacent topics.
  • Use this award as past-performance context and to map customer organizations for STRATFI/TACFI-style transition planning.
  • At $1,788,674, this is a large obligation for typical SBIR Phase sizing — worth reviewing for scope breadth and teaming opportunity.

Description

RadiaBeam is an industrial partner in the SLAC-lead consortium to develop a rugged, compact and field deployable electron linac under the ongoing DARPA program Advanced Concept Compact Electron Linear-accelerator (ACCEL).  In this Phase II SBIR project RadiaBeam will support the ACCEL program objectives by developing C-band components, low level RF (LLRF) system, controls, and infrastructure necessary to host the proof-of-concept (POC) ACCEL demonstration. The infrastructure will enable increased testing bandwidth to support the aggressive project schedule and host the future full system demonstration. Initial engineering studies will be performed towards the final goal of this development to produce a ruggedized and optimized battery powered high energy linac system for transportable and field deployable applications.
