SPECTRAL SCIENCES, INC — Department of Defense SBIR Phase II: MDA21-015
SPECTRAL SCIENCES, INC — SBIR Phase II award from Department of Defense.
Phase II SBIR prototype / development signal
- Phase II is where Department of Defense funds deeper R&D after feasibility. Incumbents with Phase II history are serious competitors on adjacent topics.
- Use this award as past-performance context and to map customer organizations for STRATFI/TACFI-style transition planning.
- At $1,509,994, this is a large obligation for typical SBIR Phase sizing — worth reviewing for scope breadth and teaming opportunity.
- Topic code MDA21-015 links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description
Spectral Sciences, Inc. proposes to extend the existing suite of simulation tools, currently optimized for boost-glide configurations and apply the suite for powered hypersonic missile signature prediction. In Phase I, we have integrated physical models and demonstrated feasibility of the approach by applying the prototype code to select problems. The successful feasibility demonstration provides a clear path for preparing the suite for transition to the community through the Phase II effort, through further hardening of the software and validating the end-to-end prediction capabilities. An additional benefit of the design is that the interceptor may allow engagement of multiple threats simultaneously. Approved for Public Release | 22-MDA-11340 (16 Dec 22)
