Description
Statheros proposes to investigate the feasibility of CAIOS, Containerized Artificial Intelligence for microservices-based Open architecture Systems. CAIOS is a novel, portable, virtualized, AI-enabled Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) capability powered by a fusion of globally-deployed commercial technology that will enhance the state of the art for Department of the Air Force’s (DAF’s) numerous next generation open architecture Microservices-Based Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (MB-EMSO) mission systems. CAIOS directly addresses the AF Science and Technology (S&T) “Rapid, Effective Decision-Making” strategic capability. CAIOS is aligned with the “Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning” technology focus area. CAIOS also supports one of the DAF’s seven operational imperatives identified by Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall: “Readiness of the Department of the Air Force to transition to a wartime posture against a peer competitor.” In Phase I, Statherós will investigate the feasibility of adapting commercial AI-enabled characterization technology to microservice applications to deliver - for the first time - a modern, containerized AI-enabled SIGINT capability for DAF’s next generation MB-EMSO systems. We will also investigate the feasibility of employing CAIOS to automate post-mission spectrum analysis workflows using recorded data from heterogeneous sensor systems to provide an automated SIGINT capability supporting in-mission and post-mission activities.
