Description

For millennia, gauze and saline water have been the standard of care to clean wounds. However, saline water is not a good approach because bacteria have hydrophobic protein surfaces that are not attracted to water. Up to 90% of the time, these bacteria are present in wounds as invisible microbial biofilms that prevent wound healing. Debridement is the medical removal of biofilms and dead, damaged, or infected tissue—typically with a sharp surgical tool. However, scalpels may be painful. XSONX offers an innovative solution to remove biofilms from wounds. Our proposed two-step solution allows military personnel to quickly and easily self-treat wounds with minimal pain. Step 1 involves an innovative, easy-to-use debridement tool that minimizes both treatment time and pain. In Step 2, our superabsorbent iodine wound dressings are then applied to eradicate remaining biofilms and protect the wound as it heals. XSONX packages this two-step solution into a convenient and hassle-free kit. We offer a competitive product that is cheaper, easier to use, and less painful than other commercially available options. Our product is an ideal solution to remove contamination and prevent infection in injured and stranded warfighters.
