Description
The increasing use of composites in aerospace structures combined with rising production rates, is driving the need for higher yields and reduced cycle time in composite manufacturing. Variability during the debulk and bagging processes have a significant impact on the part variability and quality (porosity, part thickness, distortion). Convergent Manufacturing Technologies US (CMT-US) proposes a solution that characterized the range and type of variability in the debulk and bagging process for part family details, use simulations to predict the outcomes of interest and test case studies to validate the simulations. Finally, a Neural-Net (NN) model methodology will be developed coupled with in-process debulk & bagging measurements for near real time pragmatic bagging guidance to reduce part variation.
