Description
The United States (US) Navy, pioneers in the development and deployment of Multi-Functional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) are seeking a digital twin system model for the tactical data link system. The digital twin system MIDS JTRS model will be developed using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). The Phase I model will characterize behavior, structure, requirements, and parameters that further refine trades in future MIDS developments or other tactical data link systems. A MBSE approach to system design provides enhanced team communications, reduced development risk, improved quality, single-source configuration management, and better knowledge transfer compared to traditional document-based design approaches.
