Description
It has been determined that there is a need for a replacement of NSN 5950-01-550-5404, Variable Frequency Drive used on Weapon System: 24000 BTUH, SPLIT PACK ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL UNIT (ECU); MISSILE, PATRIOT. The ESA (Engineering Support Authority) for this project is Mr. Scott Mahoney, Product Realization Engineer Supporting Lower Tier Project Office (PATRIOT) & CECOM ILSC Power & Environmental Directorate, C5ISR Center, Product Realization Systems Engineering & Quality Directorate (PRD) U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC). There is also a need for an obsolete Multi-Winding Toroidal Coil with NSN: 5950-01-052-5946 required by the Navy and used on the Weapon System: OHIO CLASS SSBN (TRIDENT); GE7 Ship's Service Motor Generator. The ESA for this effort will be Jeffery Richards SUBMARINE MG ISEA PNSY C270.6. GCI has determined a path forward to reverse engineer the VFD as well as the obsolete Multi-Winding Toroidal Coil to provide form, fit and function drop-in replacements that will be rugged, highly reliable and will meet all specifications in a Phase II effort. These two deliverables will be thoroughly tested and work successfully in the customer’s next higher assemblies: SRU and LRU.
