Description

The Team of Inductive Ventures (IV) and the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) are Teaming to provide a closed loop energy recovery and storage system for an all electric (drone) aircraft.   During Phase 1, we will work together to identify an Air Force customer who is interested in retrofitting the braking system on board a candidate electric aircraft.  This new magnetic braking system will offer the opportunity to recapture some of the vehicles kinetic energy during the landing event, and store the energy onboard the vehicle for use at a later time.  This captured energy can be used for weapons systems or other mission critical components on board the vehicle.  This work is supportive of the Agility Prime initiative in that it progress the research on inductive braking and also provides energy storage capabilities to the aircraft.
