Description

In this Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) project, EMAG Technologies Inc. proposes the development of a scalable radio frequency (RF) front end for communications, radar and sensing systems of hypersonic vehicles and missiles. The proposed solution will provide a superior size, weight and power and cost(SWaP-C) performance with respect to the conventional RF front ends as well as versatile beamforming capability and survivability in harsh operating environments. To that end, EMAG proposes to harden its proven and field-tested active electronically scanning antenna (AESA) technology using Nahsai Inc.'s ultra-high temperature ceramic (UHTC) technology and implement effective mitigation strategies for the plasma-induced RF blackout.
