Description
Today DLA assembles and kits the UGR at a single facility in San Joaquin (DDJC). Any disruptions in the San Joaquin area would rapidly endanger DLA’s ability to supply UGRs. The fixed assembly and kitting location also prevents DLA from providing the flexibility to respond to emerging customer requirements, such as CONUS and OCONUS disaster relief. TAF will combine its expertise in manufacturing with its extensive experience developing the Deployable Depot to implement a Deployable Group Rations (DGR) Platform that is containerized in 20’ ISO containers so it can be rapidly moved using existing military and commercial surface and air transport equipment. The DGR Platform can be deployed and operational within 6 hours (threshold) / 3 hours (objective), and will operate in a wide variety of weather conditions and environments. This modular, flexible, and scalable DGR Platform can be deployed in various combinations to meet the specific requirements of each engagement. TAF will maintain process equivalency to the existing facilities at San Joaquin to ensure personnel can easily transition to using deployed equipment. TAF will also maintain cost equivalency so that the DGR Platform operates cost effectively during routine exercises to assemble UGRs and maintain the readiness of the platform.
