Description
The Navy has an urgent need for Torque Meter components to keep its shaft propeller monitoring functional. Unfortunately, after several decades of declining output, the OEM went out of business in 2019, further complicating part availability. During the Phase I effort, TAF submitted TDP & SAR packages for NSNs within the Torque Meter system. Repairs are becoming increasingly untenable for the remainder of the parts in the system as they age. TAF has worked with the Navy to identify 16 NSNs, corresponding to 21 McNab part designations, that require a new source to keep the Navy supplied with functional Torque Meter systems. In addition, TAF will Reverse Engineer and SAR a NAVAIR system electrical connector as part of this effort. These parts are: Urgently needed: There is demand for each NSN based on FLIS data, procurement data, and repair requests. Have no responsive and qualified sources: Unfortunately, there is very limited stock and no active source. TAF will manufacture, test, and deliver samples of NSNs to the Navy for SAR testing, along with TDPs for each, with the replacement parts becoming approved sources for these NSNs.
