Description
Cognitics, Inc. and CAE USA propose a solution that integrates crowdsourced and publicly available street-level imagery into a 3D baseline of Human Geography content. The approach leverages existing NGA and SOCOM software architectures developed by CAE, Cognitics, and Lockheed Martin to avoid duplication of software development effort for processing and dissemination of geospatial content, while also providing highly scalable design. Our approach uses OGC CDB as a repository for the baseline 3D Human Geography dataset. We will build on an existing architecture along with GOTS and open source libraries to geolocate and coregister imagery with the 3D baseline. Crowdsourced imagery will be stored as a CDB dataset using a new extension. Imagery will also be integrated with Geospecific buildings in the CDB, so any CDB application can benefit from the street view imagery. This solution can utilize cloud APIs from vendors such as Google to identify geospecific imagery characteristics, improving the ability to use crowdsourced images to be used even when no geographic metadata is included in the source image. Included in our solution is real time integration with first responder and tactical applications such as MAGE and ATAK for acquisition and dissemination of imagery.
