Description
As military threats to GPS capabilities, and the reliance on those systems increase, the interest in the L5 GPS frequency (1176.45 MHz) by the Department of Defense (DoD) has become more urgent. Use of GPS L5 signals are increasing, and a particular area of need in this growing use is in civil airspace both domestic and international. The FAA is implementing its NextGen air traffic control system, a centerpiece of which is ADS-B, a move to get away from current radar based systems and update with GPS based systems, of which GPS L5 will be a main component. As the need for GPS L5 increases so does the need to protect it. The objective of this SBIR effort is to develop a high-performance, SWaP-C optimized antenna electronics (AE) solution to provide simultaneous Triple band anti-jam (AJ) capability for GNSS signals at L5 (1176.45MHz), in addition to currently available L1 (1575.42MHz) and L2 (1227.60MHz) bands. The AJ objective is to provide at least 35 dB of jamming suppression against 4 jammers or interference signals consisting of broadband noise, CW, pulsed CW, swept CW, and/or matched spectral that span the bandwidths of the signals of interest. The proposed Mayflower SOTAS solution will
