SRICO INC — Department of Defense STTR Phase I: N20A-T012

SRICO INC — STTR Phase I award from Department of Defense.

Phase I STTR feasibility signal

  • Phase I awards fund proof-of-concept work. For capture teams, they mark early interest from Department of Defense in a technical approach.
  • Watch for Phase II follow-ons from the same firm/topic family — that conversion path is where budgets and transition pressure rise.
  • Obligated amount $146,500. Cross-check similar awards in the same agency and technology tags for going-rate context.
  • Topic code N20A-T012 links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description

SRICO proposes to develop a compact, high-performance, electromagnetic interference (EMI) and high-power microwave (HPM) resilient radio frequency photonic link for compact antenna remoting in US Navy submarine electronic warfare applications. EMI and HPM resilience are achieved by optically isolating the pick-up radio frequency (RF) antenna and optical transmitter from the photoreceiver. The optical modulator element is based on SRICO’s proprietary thin film electro-optic materials platform, which delivers ultra-high gain bandwidth performance while reducing the size of the modulator element by a factor of 10x relative to conventional electro-optic modulators. The device operates efficiently at modest optical powers, eliminating the need for high power laser sources. SRICO’s ultra-compact and high-speed modulator technology ensures state-of-the-art RF photonic link performance in a fully packaged EMI and HPM resilient optical modulator that is less than 10 mm x 10 mm x 30 mm in size, including all circuit protection and drive electronics.
