Form Fit and Function LLC — SBIR Phase II award from Department of Defense.

Phase II SBIR prototype / development signal

  • Phase II is where Department of Defense funds deeper R&D after feasibility. Incumbents with Phase II history are serious competitors on adjacent topics.
  • Use this award as past-performance context and to map customer organizations for STRATFI/TACFI-style transition planning.
  • At $1,514,997, this is a large obligation for typical SBIR Phase sizing — worth reviewing for scope breadth and teaming opportunity.
  • Topic code DLA172-001 links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description

During this project the Reverse Engineering (RE) practices will be applied to develop Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for needed items with limited or no sources of supply, with the ultimate goal of submitting a Source Approval Request (SAR). Using a proven Reverse Engineering and SAR development process, the packages will be developed and submitted to the relevant Engineering Authority. DLA is attempting to develop qualified sources to improve product availability and provide competition for reduced lead time, cost, as well as address lifecycle performance issues. These RE SARs will target these urgently needed items to relieve issues in procuring these items.
