Twinleaf LLC — Department of Energy SBIR Phase I: 30f
Twinleaf LLC — SBIR Phase I award from Department of Energy.
Phase I SBIR feasibility signal
- Phase I awards fund proof-of-concept work. For capture teams, they mark early interest from Department of Energy in a technical approach.
- Watch for Phase II follow-ons from the same firm/topic family — that conversion path is where budgets and transition pressure rise.
- Obligated amount $150,000. Cross-check similar awards in the same agency and technology tags for going-rate context.
- Topic code 30f links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description
Commercially available magnetic field probes for the 0-2 to 5 Tesla operating range are susceptible to radiation damage- Many facilities require accurate magnetic field measurements in this range in a high-radiation environment- In this work, a radiation-tolerant, accurate magnetic field probe for the 0-2 to 5 Tesla range will be developed- It will use optical fibers to couple the radiation-resistant measurement head to a remote control unit- The Phase I work will optimize the experimental configuration for the measurement, and result in a proof-of-principle demonstration of the concept- Also in Phase I, a design will be completed for a prototype to be built in Phase II- The innovative new device will find application in experimental physics facilities and in medical diagnostics-
