Description
The goal of the Phase I proof-of-concept project is to determine if affective and physiological regulation in individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) can be promoted through dynamic adjustments in the environment. This goal will be addressed through the execution of two objectives: (1) development of an Internet of Things (IoT) prototype digital interface; and (2) evaluation of environment adjustments on affective and physiological regulation in individuals with ASD. The goal of this system is to provide greater independence and productivity at home, school, and work to significantly enhance quality living for the growing population of individuals with ASD and reduce caregiver burden.
