CORCORAN ENGINEERING, INC. — Department of Defense SBIR Phase II: A13-093

CORCORAN ENGINEERING, INC. — SBIR Phase II award from Department of Defense.

Phase II SBIR prototype / development signal

  • Phase II is where Department of Defense funds deeper R&D after feasibility. Incumbents with Phase II history are serious competitors on adjacent topics.
  • Use this award as past-performance context and to map customer organizations for STRATFI/TACFI-style transition planning.
  • Obligated amount $558,685 is consistent with substantial Phase II-scale effort; compare to related awards from the same agency.
  • Topic code A13-093 links this award to a solicitation family — search the same topic stem for incumbents and recompete timing.

Description

In the proposed project, we will design, fabricate, and demonstrate a prototype UVA laser module with greater than 0.5W output power. The laser source will consist of a semiconductor laser array that has been coherently combined using a Self-Fourier (SF) cavity. The laser output will be a diffraction-limited beam with an M2 less than 1.2. The results of this project will demonstrate a clear path towards realization of a 3W UVA semiconductor laser array with good beam quality.
